IAUN-QA Program Accreditation

From July 4th to 6th, 2023, an AUN-QA evaluation for training programme of the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory (BaML) will be held at the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, a member of Hue University, for the quality assurance work. It was known that in November 2015, the Quality Assurance Council of the Southeast Asian University Network (AUN) officially approved Hue University to become an associate member of this organization.

AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance) is AUN’s specialized network for higher education quality assurance. Its mission is to promote quality assurance activities at higher education institutions, improve higher education quality and collaborate with regional and international organizations for the benefit of the ASEAN community.

The AUN set of criteria with a lot of strict quality rules, with clear and specific criteria, will comprehensively evaluate the training programme from many aspects such as expected learning outcomes, programme framework, teaching staff, facilities, quality assurance, a connection between the university and students, alumni, employers, and business in order to ensure the quality of the entire training programme.

The importance of AUN

Participating in the AUN-QA quality assessment will help as follows.

1. Universities: to affirm the University’s commitment to society and employers regarding the quality learning outcomes of the training programme.
2. Students: Students enrolled in AUN-QA-accredited programmes will be easy to take part in exchange student programmes or transfer credits to other universities in the region. Furthermore, students who graduate from these programmes will have competitive advantages in finding employment in the regional and international markets.
3. Enterprises or businesses: The results of AUN-QA accreditation provide companies with a reliable basis for recruiting quality human resources, based on recognized training programmes with internationalized quality standards.
4. Society: The results of AUN-QA accreditation are a guide for parents and students in choosing University.

The AUN-QA criterion has been acknowledged and becomes one of the top choices among universities in Southeast Asia, thanks to its regional and internationally recognized set of criteria as well as a demanding and transparent accreditation procedure.

The Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has chosen the AUN-QA criterion as one of the standards to validate the university’s training quality, as well as the university’s commitment to society and employers regarding the quality of the training programme’s learning outcomes. Currently, the BaML is the first training programme of the Hue MP and also of the Hue University will have been examined and certified as satisfying the AUN-QA requirements.
